Our goal is to provide information and resources to help improve the quality and quantity of afterschool programs in our state.
NH Afterschool Orientation A 3-hour workshop for those who work with youth in afterschool programs (K-12). (Flyer for more information) March 2, 2012 - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Jaffrey Grade School, 18 School Street, Jaffrey, NH 03452 April 5, 2012 - 9 am - 12 noon Granite State College, 8 Old Suncook Road, Concord, NH 03301 Please Note: We can arrange an Afterschool Orientation training at afterschool sites for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 25 participants. Contact your local Extension 4-H Youth Development Educator to discuss your afterschool professional development training needs.

Young people, ages 5-18, participate in 4-H through an afterschool program. 4-H brings an expanded menu of afterschool opportunities through its program, projects, activities and curriculum.  4-H Afterschool, National 4-H Council 4-H Headquarters, CSREES, USDA UNH 4-H Youth Development Program
4-H Afterschool Clubs enable youth to belong to a larger county, state and national youth organization. As 4-H members, youth practice leadership and teamwork, share decision making with adults, and do community service learning projects.
Afterschool program staff can receive professional training from UNH Cooperative Extension educators on both 4-H curriculum and positive youth development practices. Technical assistance is also available to assist in starting and maintaining a successful 4-H afterschool group.
