Helping you put knowledge and research to work in New Hampshire

UNH Cooperative Extension extends the University’s knowledge and research directly to people and communities throughout the state. Cooperative Extension has field offices and professional staff in all ten New Hampshire counties, backed by specialists on the UNH campus in Durham and an educational outreach center in Manchester. Extension educators work with people at the local level to address needs and issues related to youth and families, community development, agricultural production and environmental stewardship, natural resources management and related industries.

UNH Cooperative Extension is uniquely positioned to help communities plan for sustainability and balanced growth; facilitate leadership development' promote community decision-making and community dialogues; implement strategies to increase citizen involvement and leadership; develop and implement action plans to address priorities; and engage in dialogue around public issues to enhance decision-making.

UNH Cooperative Extension Education Center

The UNH Cooperative Extension Education Center & Info Line in Manchester provides practical solutions to everyday questions for the citizens of New Hampshire. It is staffed by professional and intensively trained volunteers who can answer questions about gardens, lawns and landscapes, energy conservation, household food safety and food preservation, water quality, integrated pest management, tree planting and care, backyard livestock and more. We offer written information, programs or referrals on family finances, nutrition, parenting and child development, and 4-H Youth Development.
