Marketing Fruits and Vegetables
UNH Cooperative Extension helps fruit and vegetable growers identify market opportunities and develop marketing plans. Since most New Hampshire growers market their fruits and vegetables directly to consumers at roadside stands and farmers’ markets, direct marketing education is a major focus of Cooperative Extension’s agricultural marketing program. We work with other agencies, such as N.H. Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food, the N.H. Vegetable & Berry Growers Association, the N.H. Fruit Growers Association, Beginner Farmers, and Northeast Organic Farmer Association (NOFA) to encourage expanded production of locally grown products, increase entrepreneurial efforts in farming and farm-related related activities, minimize the negative environmental impacts of farming, and enhance public understanding of New Hampshire's fruit and vegetable industries.
