We Want to Hear from You!
We're conducting a brief survey to find out more about the impact our programming has had. If you've been to one of our meetings, had one of us out to the farm, or used one of our fact sheets or videos, please click here and let us know what you learned and what it did for you.
And, as a thank-you for participating in the survey, you'll be entered in a drawing on Oct. 15 to win a $100 gift certificate to King's Agriseeds - a great opportunity to try out some of those cover crops or forage grasses you've been hearing about.
Northern Corn Leaf Blight
There was considerable corn acreage hit by northern corn leaf blight last year, demonstrating that corn growers would do well to keep an eye out for it. Steve Turaj has established several 'sentinel plots and been doing his share of scouting, and while he reports that there haven't been any outbreaks yet, he note that this is the time of year that they start showing up, especially if we get an extended spell of wet weather. This link from Iowa State Extension will help you in identifying any symptoms that you see.
