Community Assets for People (CAP) Mapping Collaborative

With funds from the New Hampshire Endowment for Health and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, UNH Cooperative Extension is collaborating with UNH’s Complex Systems Research Center and Research Computing to develop a GIS-based repository for community assets, known as the Community Assets for People Mapping Collaborative (CAP-Map). This repository of data will ultimately enable organizations, institutions, and communities in New Hampshire to share information on a range of key social assets at multiple levels of geography via the internet.  Examples of social assets might include public meeting places, community recreation amenities, health provider coverage areas, community centers, youth hangouts, services for seniors, etc.

The goal of the CAP-Map repository is to enable a diversity of New Hampshire stakeholders to understand the potential synergies that can be leveraged through better access to information on social assets that are maintained within their community or region.
