Welcome to Nutrition Connections
What we do:
Our goal is to help low-income families and children improve their diets and learn to get the most for their food dollars.
Nutrition Connections is New Hampshire's home for the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Nutrition Education (SNAP-Ed). We offer these programs at no cost to low-income families.
The Nutrition Connections Program is a free program conducted by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension. Nutrition Connections can help you feed your household better, stretch your food dollars, and make healthier lifestyle choices.
UNH Cooperative Extension of Carroll County offers several free courses to income eligible people. Subject areas include nutrition and budgeting. The program covers topics such as:
- healthy, low cost meals

- making meals from what's on hand
- nutrition for children
- label reading
- unit pricing
- fitness and weight loss
- preventing food borne illnesses
- smart shopping
- stretching your resources
We work with:
Adults and Seniors
Program staff work with participants one-on-one, through home study and in small groups. The lessons include cooking, games, worksheets and activities.
Youth
Our school-enrichment, after-school, and summer programs reach school-age children and teens. Extension nutrition programs help youth develop into healthy adults by teaching them to make good choices related to diet, physical activity, and food safety.
