The mission of UNH Cooperative Extension is to provide NH citizens with research-based education and information, enhancing their ability to make informed decisions that strengthen youth, families and communities; sustain natural resources; and improve the economy.

The Coös County staff takes pride in providing friendly and capable outreach to Coös County residents in the broad areas of:

Coos Seal

4-H Youth Development
Agricultural Resources
Family & Consumer Resources
Food & Nutrition
Forest Resources

Our educational programs and information reach individuals, families, community groups and key decision-makers through workshops, group meetings, telephone and email conversations, newsletters, videoconferences, and one-on-one consultations.

Our county outreach staff connects directly to the larger resources of UNH Cooperative Extension's campus-based subject-matter specialists, to the University of New Hampshire faculty, and to the nation's land grant university system. Our specialists and county outreach staff conduct field research and organize programs based on requests from stakeholder groups.

We further extend our reach by recruiting, training and supporting thousands of volunteers, who give time in their communities as 4-H leaders, master gardeners, community tree stewards, lake quality monitors, and wildlife stewards.
