Nutrition Connections
The Nutrition Connections Program provides nutrition education at no cost to low-income families and adults, with special programs for seniors and youth. We provide educational programming on basic food needs, nutrition, food safety, shopping wisely for food, menu planning and reading food labels.
People are reached through home study courses, group or individual meetings, television commercials, and newsletters.
What do youth learn?
Nutrition Connections lessons teach the importance of:
- Making smart choices from every food group.
- Making physical activity a part of daily life.
- Practicing food safety as it relates to food handling.
