Extension Educator, Family & Consumer Resources
Thom Linehan delivers educational programs that promote competent parenting. He works with parents and those who work with parents to help prevent the possible negative impacts of poor parenting, which have have high social and economic costs. Thom also works with individuals and families to develop the skills they need to respond to stress and manage anger. Research has revealed several common characteristics of “good” parenting, among them, a secure connection with parents/caregivers in early childhood and a parenting style that is responsive, warm and communicates clear expectations and values.
| Biography |
| Thomas Linehan joined the Cooperative Extension in the summer of 2000. He has worked with families and children in a number of settings including home-based family therapy, day care and early intervention. Thom has experience and training as a marriage and family therapist and a family life educator. He has bachelor's degree in music and a master's degree in family studies and family therapy. Thom has a particular interest in the complexities and challenges of everyday life for families. He facilitates programs in parenting education, human development and coordinates NH-RAPP (Relatives as Parents Program) |
