FSNEP Nutrition Coordinator
Valerie Long handles grant-writing, develops social marketing materials, and manages special projects for the Nutrition Connections program. Nutrition Connections brings nutrition knowledge and food skills to more than 50,000 low-income individuals throughout the state.
The program teaches people about healthy foods to feed themselves and their families, how develop a food budget, plan low-cost and quick menus, shop wisely for food, how to use unit pricing and read food labels, and the importance of daily exercise.

| Valerie Long is the Nutition Coordinator for the NH Food Stamp Nutrition Education (FSNE) grant. This grant, which provides critical nutrition and food safety education to food stamp reicipients throughout the state of New Hampshire, has been awarded to UNH Cooperative Extension since 1989. Prior to this position, Val was an Extension Professor and Specialist, Food and Nutrition providing state-wide leadership for nutrition programming for low-income audiences. Now as Extension Professor and Specialist Emeritus, she focuses on nutrition education for low-income audiences. |
