Financial Assistance for Landowners- October 12, 2007 Deadline for 2008 EQIP
New Hampshire State Conservationist George W. Cleek IV has announced that the deadline for submitting applications to be considered for the fiscal year 2008 Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) is Friday, October 12, 2007.
EQIP applications are accepted on a continuous basis; however, applications received after the Oct. 12th deadline will be deferred and held for consideration during the next ranking period as funding becomes available. Applications on file that were not selected for contracts in 2007 may be carried over, and applicants should contact their local field service center if they wish to make changes to their application.
EQIP is a voluntary cost-sharing program from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). NRCS offers assistance for planning, designing, and installing conservation practices on eligible agricultural land. Conservation practices protect our water and air, increase soil productivity, enable us to take proper care of our domestic animals, be considerate of wildlife, and sustain healthy grazing, crop, and forest land.
