UNH Cooperative Extension and NHTOA sponsor Timber Talks focused on Good Forestry in the Granite State Draft


UNH Cooperative Extension and The New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association (NHTOA)will be jointly sponsoring a series of Timber Talks for the purpose of discussing and receiving feedback on the revised draft of New Hampshire's keystone forest management document: Good Forestry in the Granite State: Recommended Voluntary Forest Management Practices for New Hampshire. These sessions will be held throughout the state and will be of particular interest to landowners, natural resource professionals, municipal officials and others. Timber Talks are schedule for:
  • October 26th - Runnells Hall, Tamworth
  • October 27th - North Forest Heritage Park Bunkhouse, Berlin
  • October 28th - Epping Town Hall, Epping
  • October 29th - Fox Forest, Hillsborough 

The Timber Talks will feature Karen Bennett, UNH Cooperative Extension Forester and update Project Manager, Jasen Stock, NHTOA Executive Director, and other members of the steering committee who will provide a synopsis of the proposed changes and welcome comments and questions from the audience.

During these Timber Talks, we also will provide an update on NHDES proposed changes to the stream/wetlands rules and any other late breaking forestry law and rule changes.

These sessions will be particularly timely as the public comment period will be closing on December 1, 2009.
