GDR releases 'A Common Vision'

“In communities reflecting the best NH has to offer, conservation and affordable housing are not seen as an either-or choice but as two sides of the same coin.”

- Founding Statement, NH Growth & Development Roundtable

Who We Are

The NH Growth and Development Roundtable (GDR) is a group of prominent leaders from several of NH’s housing, conservation, planning, business and municipal interest groups who have come together to foster a dialogue about the future of land use in the Granite State. Convened in 2005 by the NH Charitable Foundation, the GDR spearheaded the effort to create the Housing and Conservation Planning Program, administered by the NH Office of Energy and Planning.

Through the Roundtable, groups who have traditionally worked in separate spheres have come to recognize shared concerns about the harmful impact of current development trends and work together for better land use outcomes.

Mission Statement

Quality of life in New Hampshire is inherent in our strong and economically diverse communities and our rich natural resources. We are losing both and need to work together to encourage local land use decision-making and state level policy initiatives that result in more affordable housing opportunities and more land conservation.
