Summary:

Learn how to use mapping quality GPS units to collect GIS data! This hands-on training walks you through the steps necessary to collect GPS data using Trimble Pro XR receivers. GPS data can be combined with other geographic data using GIS to provide a new and more informative way to map your community.



General topics:
GPS concepts
mapping quality GPS data collection

Participants will learn to:
design data dictionaries to collect attributes
collect data with mapping quality Trimble Pro XR receivers
post-correct GPS data
export GPS data to GIS shapefiles

Please note that participants in this workshop learn GPS skills, not GIS skills.
