Publications and Marketing
The UNHCE communications team supports administrators, staff and volunteers in producing high-quality educational materials. We also serve as the hub for promotion, marketing, media relations, and internal relations that connect us with other UNH departments.
We conduct critical reviews and provide thorough copyediting services. We manage our Web homepage as a public value communication tool. We work with document designers to publish high-quality printed materials, and do original research, interviews and writing for Web articles, press releases, reports, speeches and public testimony.
Finally, we support staff and volunteer development by offering writing, editing and online tutorials.

Getting Started
- When developing a new publication, other types of educational materials, or simply requesting to reprint an existing resource, please first refer to the Educational Materials Design, Development, Editing & Production - Policies and Procedures
- Fill out and submit an Educational Materials Request Form (This form will initiate your request and automatically let your program leader and the Communication's office know what you are planning).
Initial Meeting
After your publication is approved, the Communications office will set up a preliminary meeting with you. An editor will meet with you to discuss audiences, central message, distribution, budget, etc.
Timeline Development
To produce a quality publication, it is important to build adequate time into your schedule. As you plan your project, keep in mind your deadline for completion. Working backward from this deadline, the Communications Team will set up a schedule that includes stages for conceptualization, writing, editing, design, proofing by the client, photography, and production. (Please refer to the timeline below).
Printing
The Communications Team will coordinate and monitor the printing and delivery processes. “Author Edits” or changes made to a publication once it is ready to print, cost additional money. Please carefully proof any publication before it is released for printing. Bidding takes a minimum of three weeks, and minimum time for developing and printing simple publications is 10 business days. More detailed publications take longer.
