Exploring Seafood

EVENTS

Shrimp Local, Eat Local
shrimpevent

In March, 2010, over 80 particpants learned how to cook, peel and store Northern Shrimp in collaborative effort between UNH Cooperative Extension and the Whittemore School of Business. Chefs from the Culinary Program demonstrated how to prepare these local gems in a variety of ways for paricipants to taste. Attendees left the workshop with recipes and educational materials so they could better enjoy shrimp at home.

Why is Seafood Important?

What Can I Do With a Whole Fish?

Buying whole fish can make it easier to buy local and save some money. Some Community Supported Fisheries (CSFs) are making whole fish available to their customers (follow this link for more information). However, not everyone is used to preparing whole fish. Play the videos below to learn how to fillet a whole fish (video provided by Cape Anne Fresh Catch).
