Think you need to be stuck inside when it's cold and snowy? Think campfires and s'mores are only for the summer? Well, think again!
Try skiing/snowboarding down a mountain (lessons included), snow tubing, and exploring trails on foot with snowshoes or on Nordic skis. Play group games in the lodge. Go snow tubing, enjoy ice skating in a magical setting, before taking an evening sleigh ride through snow covered pines while wrapped in a cozy blanket.
All ending a perfect day, warming up by a roaring winter camp fire with new friends, a cup of hot cocoa, and s'mores...all under the brightly lit sky cover of stars!
The UNH Cooperative Extension Military Youth and Family Program 2017 White Mountain Winter Adventure Camps is for teens living in military families. These camps take teens, ages 14 to 18, to the beautiful White Mountains in Northern NH, where they will enjoy classic winter sports and activities while building connections with other military teens. These camps are open to military teens from anywhere in the United States.
Food, lodging, lift tickets, equipment rentals, and lessons (for all levels), and additional recreational experiences are provided. The only cost to families is a $25 registration fee, later applied to the cost of a camp memento. Transportation assistance is available.
The White Mountain Winter Adventure Camps provide an opportunity for military youth to work together, socialize, experience new winter activities, and just play in the snow! The camps are designed for military teens with and without disabilities, giving everyone a chance to join in the fun! (If your teen has an Individualized Education Program (IEP), check out the January sessions to see if these sessions fit your needs.)
