Speaking For Wildlife
|
| About the Speaking for Wildlife Project |
The "Speaking For Wildlife" Project trains Coverts volunteersintheUpper Valley to provide basic wildlife education programs to the general public. The project will combine the efforts of UNH Coop. Extension wildlife biologists, the staff and volunteers of the NH Coverts Project, and the local expertise of the County Foresters in the Upper Valley region.
| Speaking For Wildlife Presentations |
| Three presentations are being developed by UNH Coop. Extension staff based on ideas offered by Coverts volunteers at our brainstorming sessions in July, 2009. Volunteers can adapt these with their own photos and themes, but they will also be stand-alone. We can always add more! |
|
| Backyard Wildlife: Keeping Common Species Common | Focused on commonly-seen wildlife, why they are found in certain places (habitat requirements), and what your audience can do to help them, live with them, etc. |
| Wild History: 350 Years of New Hampshire Wildlife | Takes a historical look at the changes in New Hampshire's landscape (habitat), and the resulting changes in wildlife populations and species. In this talk, there is a greater focus on rare species, such as grassland birds, bobcat, bald eagles, etc. |
| Design Your Own Field Walk | We'll offer tips on leading a field walk, checklists for what to cover and how to plan, and how to involve your County Extension Forester to help plan the walk ahead of time. You pick the place! |
