EEC Blog: An ongoing newsletter of the Extension Educators Council
Welcome to the homepage of the Extension Educator Council Blog. The Extension Educator Council (EEC) represents UNH Cooperative Extension Educators and their issues to the University administration. One of the goals for the current EEC is to better communicate with Extension Educators regarding issues that affect them as UNH employees. We have launched this blog to give Educators and Specialists information on current EEC agenda items, easy access to minutes and personnel issues, and to provide a means for input to EEC on important topics.
In order to more easily obtain input from EEs, we have created a discussion forum called the EEC Scuttlebutt. By restricting access to Extension Educators and Specialists, we have tried to lend a measure of confidentiality to the forum. Individuals may choose whatever screen name they want when registering. You may also email current EEC members with your questions or concerns.

Presidental Award of Excellence - Call for nominations
You should have just received your blue postcard from UNH requesting nominations for the Presidential Award of Excellence.
PLEASE take the time to consider nominating a colleague for the Presidential Award of Excellence for 2007. This award is the most significant of all awards because of the recognition across the UNH campus. If you admire the hard work and years of dedicated service of one of your colleagues, nominate them today! Categories include EE, PAT and OS. You must be a UNH employee to nominate. Individuals in all categories can nominate individuals in any of the three categories.
Important Advice: For the category of Extension Educator, the decision makers (EE PAE Peer Review Committee) include three individuals from CE as well as two from UNH HR. Although the HR representatives will take input from EEs on that committee into consideration, they are relying primarily on what they receive from the person nominating. Therefore, you may want to contact the Program Leader and ask for some input on specific impacts and accomplishments. This will make a stronger nomination. A document with more detailed information can be uploaded easily (see instructions at link below) or text can be cut and pasted into the nomination form.
This advice is equally true for PAT and OS nominations - PAE Peer Review Committees for PAT and OS will not always have individuals with first- hand knowledge of your nominee. So contact the supervisor if you need some more detailed information to add to your nomination.
Criteria for this award is - "Demonstrated excellence through outstanding performance in their position and a record of dedication to, and a concern for the University Community."
The deadline is Monday, March 24. All nominations are online, so it is very easy to complete. Simply go to http://nominations.unh.edu/HR/
Being nominated is an honor in itself. ALL Nominees are invited to a reception at the UNH President's home in April.
Having a healthy number of nominees is important in communicating the incredible variety of programs and services Cooperative Extension provides as an outreach of UNH.
The list of past recipients can be found at this link:

Thank you for your consideration of this invitation to take the time to nominate.
