We continue to have staff getting infected with a piece of malware dubbed "Antivirus 2009." When visiting a malicious website, a window pops up (see example screen shots below) notifying the user that their computer is infected. Once the user clicks on one of the messages, a program is downloaded, which the user must install to complete the infection. As stated previously, don't install software from any website unless you are certain that it is safe. If you have any doubts, please contact the Hot Seat (862-0351).
If you get any of the popups illustrated below. DO NOT CLICK THEM AT ALL! Restart your computer. If you continue to receive popups after restarting your computer, please notify us. More information about this malware is available at the Symantec site.
