Welcome to Family and Consumer Resources

holding handsThe Family and Consumer Resources program provides information and assistance to strengthen families, individuals and communities. We work with a diverse group of individuals including adults of all ages, families, consumers, child care providers, and food service workers. Education is provided through individual contacts, group programs, newsletters, publications, web sites, and media outlets. We work closely with family resource centers, schools, youth organizations, non-profit organizations, community and volunteer groups, and food service businesses.




Some of the educational areas include: family

  • Strengthening parenting skills
  • Money management and consumer issues – youth and adults
  • Managing credit and debt
  • Financial Security In Later Life
  • Food safety for consumers
  • Training food service workers to help reduce foodborne hazards
  • Food Safety Certification Training
