  • My observation is that crows and other blackbirds cause a lot more damage, here is a field that had to be replanted a number of times after corn seedlings were pulled out of the ground.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Data: Damage to cornfields by birds is being collected by USDA during the 2011 Growing Season - New Hampshire growers of field and sweet corn are encouraged to report incidences of bird damage to corn plantings experienced during 2011.  Please see the attached bulletin for more details.
