Parenting, Family Finance, and Food Safety -
The Merrimack County Family and Consumer Resources Program

While the field of Family and Consumer Resources encompasses a wide variety of efforts that benefit families and communities, in Merrimack County, we focus on the following areas:

  • Parenting Education
  • Grandparents and Relatives as Parents
  • Family Life Education
  • Food Safety for Commercial Sites and Consumers
  • Food Preservation
  • Family Finance
  • Community Development

Strong, healthy families are the foundation of all communities. In turn, supportive communities reap the benefits when families succeed in raising their children to become responsible, productive, and caring adults.

It is the well-being of families that is the top priority of Merrimack County Family and Consumer Resources Educators. We work to strengthen family relations, help families achieve day-to-day financial stability and long-term financial security, and promote healthy practices and choices. Research-based programs reach families and individuals through a system of collaborations and partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies, and businesses.
