Rockingham County Programs

As your local link to the University of New Hampshire, Rockingham County Cooperative Extension provides practical educational research-based programs and assistance to people of all ages. In every Rockingham County community, Extension is at work - increasing economic development, enhancing the environment, and developing human potential.

4-H Youth Development helps youth develop their full potential through hands-on learning opportunities that address their essential needs for belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity.

Agriculture Resources provides educational programs on sustainable production to producers of fruit, vegetables, and ornamentals, and growers of livestock and forages. Information is also available on pest management, marketing directly to consumers, and sustainable landscaping practices for towns, schools, and homeowners.

Community Assistance works with communities to facilitate community planning and develop action plans, builds communities’ capacity to capitalize on local economic assets, and helps communities engage diverse community members in volunteerism and building of community connections.

Family and Consumer Resources provides education in areas of parenting, food safety, money management, media literacy, and healthy lifestyles.

Forestry and Wildlife provides educational and technical assistance to forest landowners in the better use of their forest resources for income production as well as recreation, wildlife, aesthetics, and watershed management.

Land and Water Conservation provides guidance on permanent land conservation options to private landowners, communities, and private nonprofit conservation organizations, and is involved with a broad spectrum of conservation and policy issues related to land and water conservation.

Nutrition Connections brings knowledge of nutrition and food skills to limited income people of all ages and enables them to make informed, positive lifestyle choices.

Sea Grant works with fishery stakeholders, such as fishermen, researchers, conservationists, and managers, to pursue its mission of promoting the understanding, development, wise use, and conservation of our ocean and coastal resource.
