Sullivan County Forestry and Wildlife Program - Chuck Hersey

Eighty percent of Sullivan County’s land base consists of forestland. These mostly private forestlands provide many public benefits such as water quality protection, recreation, wildlife habitat and renewable forest products.  The primary goal of the Sullivan County UNHCE Forestry and Wildlife Program is to sustain the many values that emanate from forestlands through a variety of educational activities and partnerships.  Chuck Hersey, Extension Educator – Forest Resources, and statewide UNH Forestry and Wildlife Program Extension Specialists implement the program in Sullivan County.

Chuck is available to meet with forest landowners on their land to provide them with the necessary information they need to make informed decisions to meet their own goals while at the same time improve and/or maintain the condition of the forestland and the ecological/economical values it provides. Chuck also works with partnering organizations to deliver a variety of educational activities including: workshops, field days and forums to the public about the forest resources within Sullivan County.
