SAFE (Safety Awareness in the Food Environment)

For volunteers in new meal ministry; introductory food safety and sanitation program that emphasizes the importance of personal hygiene and controlling time, temperature, and cross contamination as food flows through the food service establishment. SAFE reviews critical food safety and sanitation concepts and food handling tips for both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house employees. It is useful for new food service workers or as a refresher for experienced food service workers; includes demonstrations, case-studies, and discussion to help food service workers apply the information to the worksite.
