Join Fred Borman, UNH Cooperative Extension Educator for Forest Resources and Roger and Adele Haskell, Community Tree Steward Volunteers, at the Brentwood Game Farm, a New Hampshire Fish and Game Wildlife Management Area, on November 7th for an invasive plant workshop.

Learn to identify and how to control invasive exotic plants such as Oriental Bittersweet, Japanese Barberry, Autumn Olive, Multifl ora Rose, Burning Bush (winged euonymus), Glossy Buckthorn and Bush Honeysuckle.

Learn why these, and other invasive plants, are detrimental to our native plants and shrubs, and wildlife habitat. Learn how they propagate and spread throughout the landscape, crowding out and replacing
native vegetation.

For those who are interested, we will be spending time removing invasive plants found on the Game Farm. Bring gloves for pulling plants. A tool called the "weed wrench" will be demonstrated. Please note that poison ivy will be encountered during this part of the program

Dress for the weather. Refreshments will be served prior to the workshop. Pre-registration is not necessary.

 The Game Farm is located on South Rd., approximately ½ mile east of Rte. 125 in Brentwood. A sign will be posted at the entrance to the driveway on the north side of the road.
