USDA Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Training Program

Recent contamination outbreaks have raised concerns about the safety of fresh produce.
We are pleased to present this training program for growers and fresh produce handlers as a pre-conference workshop for the New England Vegetable and Fruit Conference.
This training will teach you about:
- strategies for controlling potential microbial hazards before planting and throughout all phases of production: planting, production, harvesting and postharvest handling.
- The USDA GAP Third Party Audit process and how to prepare your Farm Food Safety Plan.
- Local resources to assist in developing a Food Safety Plan.
You will receive:
- a manual filled with GAP resources
- a CD loaded with templates needed to maintain GAP records customized for you farm.

2 pesticide recertification credits are available.

Fee:
$50 per set of educational materials. Additional farm members or those not needing educational materials may attend for $10 per person.
