Vegetable and Berry Twilight Meeting
(Monday 08/20/2012 - 06:00 PM - 08:00 PM)

This meeting features a tour of Homestead farm, owned and operated by the Hubbard Family. The farm grows pick-your-own blueberries and strawberries, greenhouse tomatoes, and several mixed vegetable crops and Christmas trees. Our hosts will talk with us about their production and marketing practices, and Extension Specialists and will discuss current pest and disease issues affecting vegetable and berry crops, and how to manage them.

Another focus of the meeting is soil health – we’ll be discussing many topics:

  • cover crops for weed suppression and soil building
  • soil testing in the field and in high tunnels
  • NRCS programs

 

1.5 pesticide recertification credits.
