Caring for Your Forest - Workshops for Landowners
Interested in taking better care of your woodlot? Sharpening your forestry skills? Come to one, two, or all four of these workshops. (Note: The Logs to Lumber is offered in two locations on two different days. Workshop content is similar though slightly different to take advantage of each site.) You will be “in the field” for at least part of each day. Come prepared for the weather. A great opportunity to learn from the management on the UNH Woodlands.
Nov. 10 - Logs to Lumber at 8:00 am - 12 noon - $15.00
Ricker Brook Forest, 172 Taterboro Rd., Sandwich, NH
Learn how to turn trees into lumber at this live, action-packed, half-day workshop. Demonstrations include moving logs from the stump to the mill, grading logs for volume, sawing logs, drying and planing the lumber.
