This workshop builds on basic concepts from Making Maps the Google Way by providing more advanced techniques for creating Mashup maps using Google tools.
Making Maps the Google Way: Reloaded materials
This manual covers several methods for converting GIS files to KML format, and KML files to GIS format. Also, we introduce a website that can be used for basic GIS geoprocessing capabilities when working with KML’s (i.e. buffering, area calculation).
The workshop materials consist of the workshop manual (PDF), the presentations (PPT), and exercise data (ZIP).
The manual contains the following sections:
1. KML to SHP to KML
2. Geoprocessing with KML's
