Multicolored Asian Ladybug

Multicolored Asian Ladybug
In 1994 a new ladybug appeared in New Hampshire. Known to scientists as Harmonia axyridis (Pallas), this insect is now common in all of the New England states. Harmonia axyridis is highly variable in appearance. Most specimens in New Hampshire are orange to reddish-orange (sometimes tan) with anywhere from none to as many as 18 black spots on their wing covers.
