Google Puts the G in GPS

Learn to bring GPS data into Google Earth and Google Maps, and just as easily, put features from those maps into your GPS! This workshop builds on basic concepts from GPS Basics by providing exploring the ways in which GPS can be used in combination with Google mapping software. 

GPS & You III: Tracks & Routes

GPS III covers more sophisticated navigation and data collection. After a brief orientation to tracks and routes, the workshop materials focus on learning to collect tracks (including lines and areas) and to navigate along previously collected tracks (lines) and routes (a series of points). Trimble Mission Planning software is also discussed. GPS & You I: GPS Basics is the first of the series (followed by GPS II: Pictures, Points & Places and GPS III: Tracks & Routes).

Mapping with Handheld GPS

These workshop materials cover the basics of using Garmin 76 handheld GPS units for navigation and data collection. This workshop has been replaced by GPS & You I: GPS Basics and GPS & You III: Tracks & Routes, both of which are also available for download.

Trail Mapping with GPS

Learn to how to map trails using handheld GPS units! This workshop builds on basic concepts from GPS Basics to provide all of the info and skills you need for your trail mapping project!
