Tom Buob

Biography
Tom returned to NH in the summer of 1982 from Cornell Cooperative Extension in Herkimer Co. where he worked in forage crops and consumer horticluture. In NH the main focus of programming has been in nutrient and pesticide management in corn and forage crops.(While he would probably never call himself an environmentalist, Tom has emphasized the relationship between farm profitability, production and water quality). His training in soil science has been key in helping farmers understand this relationship. "Soils are Mother Nature".

- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 1970, Christian Brothers College, Memphis, Tenn.
- M.S. Soil Science, 1979. UNH, Durham, NH
Program Specialty Areas
- Through on-farm demonstrations and research has helped farmers understand how to do a better job of managing nutrients and pesticides.
- Currently directs the nutrient and pesticide management program in Grafton Co.(mid to northern Connecticut River Valley) which is currently funded through a water quality hydrologic unit grant to protect and enhance water quality.
