Ginny DiFrancesco
Extension Program Associate, Water Resources
Biography
After several years of working as District Manager for the Grafton County Conservation District with the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Ginny joined UNHCE in Grafton County in 1994 as a Program Associate for the Connecticut River Hydrologic Unit Grant. Through the CRHU Program Ginny organizes and coordinates water quality workshops, exhibits, and information involving water conservation issues; stream & river ecology; and watershed & ground water/aquifer protection. Ginny works with youth & educators, homeowners & landowners, municipalities, the media, and interested individuals in the River Valley. Networking with schools and the many local, state and Federal agencies has been identified as top priority.

- Presently enrolled in Self Designed Degree Program with UNH CLL
- AS Natural Resource Protection (through UNH CLL)

- Experience working with county, State, & Federal Conservation agencies

Program Specialty Areas
- Water Festival - an annual day-long event is a fun family event designed to increase awareness and appreciation of water resources. Hands on demonstrations, exhibits and activities, entertainment, river boat trips, and a fishing pond for kids are some highlights.
- Non Point Source Pollution Prevention - protection of water quality through non point source pollution prevention information and education presented locally to residents.
- Natural Resource Community Assistance- with conservation commissions and appropriate agencies to assist in identifying and protecting community natural resources.
- Watershed Education for Youth & Educators -offers aquatic ecology workshops, field trips, and demonstrations to youth and educators of youth. Teachings vary with the audience, the season, and resources available.
