Extension Program Associate, Food & Nutrition


Liz Martin brings the Nutrition Connections program to Merrimack county residents. She teaches low-income individuals about healthy foods to feed themselves and their families, how to develop a food budget, plan low-cost and quick menus, shop wisely for food, how to use unit pricing, read food labels, and the importance of daily exercise.

 



Biography

The Nutrition Connections Program provides educational programming to limited income individuals, seniors, groups, and youth to teach the basics of nutrition, food safety, shopping wisely for food, menu planning and reading food labels. People are reached through home study courses, group or individual meetings, television commercials, and newsletters. Nutrition Connections also assists schools in improving the nutrition environment.
