Sue Buteau
Extension Educator, Family and Consumer Resources & County Office Administrator

Sue Buteau joined the UNH Cooperative Extension staff in Coos County in 1979. She assists individuals and families by providing research-based educational programs and information in the areas of family life and parenting, food safety, and personal financial management and literacy. She works collaboratively with volunteers and other professionals in schools, human service agencies, community groups and businesses, hospitals and health agencies.

• Family Education - provides parenting education programs and information to increase skills and confidence, reduce stress, take pride and find joy in raising children, whether preschoolers or school-age children. Sue also assists individuals in accepting and adjusting to life changes, at home or in the work environment, including personal loss.

• Food Safety - working with individuals and the food service industry to improve safe food handling practices and reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses.

• Personal Financial Management - educational programs for people of all ages and income levels on effectively managing personal financial resources, understanding and reducing debt and stretching resources to meet needs and save for the future.

• Assisting Medicare beneficiaries - provides information to Medicare beneficiaries, enabling them to better understand their benefits and responsibilities, determine their needs for Medicare supplemental insurance, and make well informed consumer choices.
