Extension Educator, Forest Resources

Timothy Fleury, Forest Resources Educator meets with forest landowners on their land to encourage, advising and motivating them to make the best decisions possible about their land.

He also holds workshops, field days, short courses, and informational meetings, provides education about federal cost-sharing programs, promotes the N.H. Tree Farm Program, and delivers volunteer training for the Extension Wildlife Coverts Cooperators Program.

Tim Fleury joined UNH Cooperative Extension Merrimack County office in August, 1996. Prior to joining the Merrimack County staff, he was employed at the University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System as the Forest Stewardship Program Coordinator. His previous forestry experience includes a stint as Forestry/Conservation Extensionist with the U.S. Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic (1983-1986), a Forest Technician with U.S. Forest Service in Southeast Alaska, and several years as a Forestry Consultant.

His primary responsibilities as a forest resource educator are to help promote forest resource conservation through public education and to advise landowners on the proper management of their forestland, including woodlot management, current use assessment, forestry cost-sharing, community resource-based conservation, building forest access roads, and more.
