Philip Auger
Extension Educator, Land & Water Conservation

Biography

Phil has worked for UNH Cooperative Extension in Rockingham County since 1976. Initially his work responsibilities were to guide private landowners and communities in the management of their forest lands. He began to focus on land conservation, community natural resources, planning and open space economic issues early in his career and changed positions about five years ago to become an Extension Educator in Land and Water Conservation. This is the only county-based position of its kind in Extension and is entirely funded by Rockingham County and grant sources. Phil provides land conservation guidance to private landowners, communities and private non-profit conservation organizations and is involved with a broad spectrum of conservation and policy issues related to land and water conservation. He currently serves on the board of directors for Bear-Paw Regional Greenways and the Southeast Land Trust of NH. Wife Carolyn, dog Teak and he live on 100 acres of conserved forest in Strafford.
