Entry and Form Information
This show is open to NH 4-H members 12-18 years old on January 1 who have qualified in their county as a delegate or alternate. All must enter by deadline, delegates must include fees, and alternates will pay upon arrival at show if they participate. Alternates may be used as replacements as long as they are on the grounds Friday evening to take the written quiz with other exhibitors and their horse must be on the grounds prior to their scheduled first class. No post entries will be permitted. Exhibitor must ride the same horse and same seat as ridden in County Qualifying Show.
How To Enter
Each exhibitor, alternate, and stable manager must complete entry forms linked below. Entries are due in to the State 4-H Office by July 1, 2013 or immediately after County Show.
Please check with your county about how they want you to submit your entries. All checks need to be made payable to the 4-H Foundation of New Hampshire. You can find your County 4-H contact information here: http://extension.unh.edu/Counties
An exhibitor must have, for the horse entered, an approval form signed and stamped by County 4-H Staff by May 1; April 1 for horses to be eligible for ESE.
A complete entry would include the following:
- 2014 New Hampshire State 4-H Horse Show Entry Form and Release
- Entry Fee
- Horse Approval Form (and NH 4-H Record Lease Form if appropriate)
- 4-H Activity Youth Permission and Release and Code of Conduct
- NH 4-H Activity Youth Medical Care and Treatment Form
- Stable Managers: 4-H Activity Youth Permission and Release and Code of Conduct, NH 4-H Activity Youth Medical Care and Treatment Form
- Completed ESE form for those eligible
- Camping Fees
- T-Shirt Order Form
4-H State Show participants with documented disabilities will be accommodated as appropriate. Participants qualifying for the State Horse Show through participation in Walk Trot B or Walk Trot Canter B should indicate the correct division on their entry form. Note: Walk Trot B or Walk Trot Canter B riders are not eligible for Eastern States Exposition. Please notify Rhiannon Beauregard, NH 4-H Animal and Agricultural Science Education Coordinator of any accommodations needed no later than July 1 at email@example.com.
An entry fee of $65.00 for riders and $10.00 for stable managers is necessary to help cover rental of the grounds, stalls and other costs. Entry fees must be sent with entries. Make check or money order payable to the 4-H Foundation of New Hampshire. No refunds will be granted unless Mary Davis is notified in writing via email at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 48 hours before opening of the show that the member will not participate.
Exhibitors unable to attend the New Hampshire 4-H State Horse Show for any reason must contact their county office immediately to allow for timely notification of alternates.
Ribbons and trophies will be awarded. No premiums are available. A stable manager award for high point quiz and judging is awarded.

- Total of Quiz and Judging. If still tied
- Fit and Show Score. If still tied
- Scores of answers to questions in Judging
