4-H Text, Talk, Act
The National Institute for Civil Discourse is working in partnership with 4-H (National and NH) to promote Text, Talk, Act, a text-enabled nationwide discussion designed to kick start a national dialogue on mental health.
The TTA program is available during the months of June. Here’s how you can be involved:
- Reach out to friends, family, school groups, 4-H Clubs, and other youth groups to start a conversation. Providing food is a great way to break the ice – order a pizza!
- Help us get the word out to preteens/teens and families by forwarding this email to educators, club leaders, after school programs, or anyone concerned with health and wellness. We recommend youth group leaders notify parents by using the parent letter at: http://www.creatingcommunitysolutions.org/search/site/parents%20letters ).
Why is Text, Talk, Act so important? Just one small act of kindness can make a big difference - this conversation can save someone’s life. Not only can it help those facing mental health challenges, but it may help you understand and help any friends or family that may be struggling.
