WMUR's Sean McDonald took an in-depth look at the NH Big Tree Program, learning how trees are located, identified, measured, and then submitted for nomination to the program. Watch this video as he goes on tour with our crew. The NH Big Tree Program, a part of UNH Cooperative Extension, is a network of volunteers throughout the state who hunt for large trees. When they find a tree that is bigger than what's already been found, they record and register them with the national register of big trees. Through this work, you can look up where to find the biggest trees in our state and visit them, or find your own. It's exciting and enjoyable for many, and makes a great project for kids and adults alike.
