Summary of Position
The Extension Healthy Living Field Specialist leads, coordinates, develops and evaluates direct education, professional development, and policies, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes in schools, Head Start programs, and other youth-oriented environments. The Specialist uses research-based content and knowledge to develop community-based programs targeting nutrition, physical activity, food safety, and food resource management skills and behaviors of NH youth, adults, and families. The position also provides leadership through program coordination and liaising with other Extension programs and community partners, with a specific focus on youth and school-based community programming. The position is primarily funded through the USDA-FNS Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) and the USDA-NIFA Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). This position is located in the Merrimack County UNH Cooperative Extension office in Boscawen, NH.
Masters level or higher in appropriate discipline. A strong candidate with a B.S. level degree candidate in appropriate discipline with experience may be considered if they are willing to obtain a Masters degree within 7 years of hire.

Experience working with youth/schools; experience working with underserved audiences; experience with nutrition and physical activity-related community level change and/or the socio-ecological model and/or policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes; experience working on coalitions and/or with collective impact models; demonstrated communication skills; experience with virtual program delivery; supervisory experience; experience with curriculum development and/or training; experience with grant writing and/or management; Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR); knowledge of Cooperative Extension and/or Nutrition Connections/EFNEP/SNAP-Ed and/or 4-H.
