UNH Extension Seeks an Assistant Director of Operations

The Assistant Director of Operations for UNH Extension will work in close collaboration with the Extension Dean and Director and Associate Director of Programs to establish and implement organizational policy, provide organizational oversight, implement a strategic plan, and allocate resources.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
 
Oversight of statewide and county Extension operations
 
  • Oversee organizational operations including risk management, equipment, and space allocation. Management of facilities is complex and includes campus and external sites, including ten county Extension offices; external office buildings used by UNH Professional Development and Training and NH Sea Grant; and UNH Outreach and Engagement offices.
  • Provide leadership for sustained county funding of UNH Extension in collaboration with Dean and Director of Extension. Prepare and usher county Extension office budgets through approval, in partnership with Extension Public Affairs Manager; Extension County Office Administrators; and Research, Economic Engagement and Outreach Finance Administrator.
  • Provide leadership to Extension’s Public Affairs Manager and Extension County Office Administrators concerning elected and appointed officials; advisory councils; and operational and administrative issues.
  • Serve as Extension’s primary liaison to UNH Human Resources. Administer implementation of USNH personnel policies and procedures as they apply to Extension, including employment and salary administration, employee orientation, performance management, promotion, and termination.
  • Develop and communicate policies and procedures related to emergency planning and response; staff safety; and Extension office closure. Provide training to staff as appropriate.
  • Serve as liaison to USNH Information Technology and UNH Extension Educator Council. Liaison to additional teams and committees as assigned by the Dean and Director.
  • Position may include supervision.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in appropriate academic discipline
  • Five years of successful leadership experience
