UNH Extension Seeks a 4-H Agriscience Program Manager

The N.H. 4-H team seeks a 4-H Agriscience Program Manager to help reach the team’s goal to increase agricultural literacy throughout the community including educators, youth, and families. Located at the UNH Extension office in Boscawen, N.H., the 4-H Agriscience Program Manager will be responsible for the recently funded 4-H Ag Exploration initiative working alongside the 4-H Agriscience field specialist. The program manager will coordinate the initiative, recruiting and working with educators to deliver year-long agricultural science lessons in their local classrooms. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, grant-funded position for three years with potential for future funding.

Duties and Responsibilities
 
Educational Programming
  • Implement an effective participant recruitment strategy including the use of social media and other web-based applications to recruit 4-H Ag Exploration fellows.
  • Develop, organize, plan and coordinate 4-H Ag Exploration outreach programs/activities to ensure intended outcomes for participants.
  • Train and support 4-H Ag Exploration fellows by coordinating educational activities to ensure programs achieve intended outcomes for participants.
  • Serve as the point of contact for 4-H Ag Exploration project responding to direct inquiries from clientele to assist with support, problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Train and support 4-H Ag Exploration fellows in the effective usage of technologies including online instruction, social media and other web-based applications.
  • Conduct 4-H Ag Exploration classroom visits providing technical assistance and community connection.
  • Coordinate local 4-H Ag Exploration family nights with classroom educators.
  • Support program participants by coordinating evaluation data collection, completing timely reporting and analyzing program effectiveness.
  • Travel throughout the state to support programming, meet with cooperating educators, and attend team meetings.
  • Guide and train 4-H Ag Exploration fellows on the programmatic involvement of underserved and underrepresented audiences and ensure that all educational programming is conducted in full accordance with civil rights, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) policies and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Identify individual professional development goals in cooperation with supervisor and seek training in subject area expertise and essential skills related to the position.
 
Other Duties

  • Participate in team meetings and perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, education or human services and two years of experience in work related to administering educational programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for work. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current federal rate.
  • Effective human relations and communication skills.
  • Computer skills as required by department.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with educational technologies.
  • Demonstrated use of innovative educational strategies.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and/or training.
