Purple Up! for Military Kids Fisher Cats Baseball Game(s)

On Friday, April 27th, the NH Fisher Cats baseball team hosted Purple Up! UNH Cooperative Extension’s Military Youth and Family Program (MYFP) celebration for Month of the Military Child. Purple symbolizes all of the branches of the military, so we encouraged everyone to wear purple to support the 5,200 kids living in military families in the state of NH.

The April game “struck out” on a cold and rainy evening, so the Fisher Cats generously offered us tickets to ANOTHER game! Both games occurred at the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester, NH, and military kids even got the opportunity to participate in activities on the field. Kids were allowed to play catch on the field, high-five the players, and stand next to the players for the singing of the National Anthem. One lucky kid wearing purple even got the chance to help throw the first pitch of the game! We handed out backpacks to all of the kids before the game, which were a real hit. June 10th turned out to be a wonderful Sunday afternoon for a baseball game!
