Where has your NH State 4-H jacket been?
Rockingham County 4-H Alumni Katarina Vogel shares her story...
"My 4-H Jacket went with me to the highest peak of the Arab world during my study abroad learning Arabic through the NROTC, Project Global Officer Program. At over 13,000 feet high, Mount Toubkal towers over Morocco, a country located in North Western Africa that I called home for two months this summer as I spent my weekdays studying and my weekends traveling everywhere from the coast of Tangier to the Strait of Gibraltar, to the Sahara desert and its desert city of Merzouga, and several places in between. As a product of 4-H, arriving in Morocco with effectively no Arabic language skill left me the tasking to Make the Best out of this unbelievable experience. In the end, I found myself able to write in full sentences, carry conversations, and manage a day-to-day life in an Arabic speaking country. My 4-H Jacket took me on a life-changing trip to learn Arabic and explore Morocco."
