NH 4-H Citizenship Focus: A Day at the NH State House for Teens

New Hampshire State House
107 N. Main Street
Concord, NH 03301
United States

This year 4-H will be returning to the New Hampshire State House! Join us in an interactive experience including mock trials, voting on House Bills, and speaking with your local Representatives and Senators to tell your story.

At lunch, youth members will eat with their local representatives and have the opportunity to share the issues in their community most important to them. They will be able to do this in two ways: first, by having a casual conversation and second, using our statewide initiative, Photovoice, as a tool to discuss the issue at hand. Youth will be invited to send in a photograph and short narrative of an issue they are facing in their community. This is also the perfect opportunity to share the graphic they designed with Media Power Youth in our workshop on Persuasive Advocacy.

This day-long event is open to 4-Hers ages 12-18Register by April 11 through 4-H Online.

Cost: $15

In 4-H, finding your voice is a critical part of becoming a leader. Learning how to use that voice to share your story is a skill that will help you create change in your communities. This year we will have some fantastic ways for you to engage with other 4-H youth from around the state and learn to tell your story to create change in your community.

Youth can take part in a number of virtual workshops leading up to our day at the State House. Workshops are optional with a separate registration and at no additional cost.
