Produce Safety Alliance Training: Production Tools for your Farm

This one-day workshop is geared toward fruit and vegetable growers and others interested in learning about produce safety.

Join us to learn about options for including food safety practices in your production systems, regulatory requirements, and farm food safety plans.

Participants will be given a training manual, and the day will include both classroom style lecture as well as hands-on activities. There will be time for discussion so please bring your experience and produce safety questions.

The trainers will cover the following modules:

  • Introduction to Produce Safety
  • Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
  • Soil Amendments
  • Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
  • Agricultural Water
  • Postharvest Handling and Sanitation
  • How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan

Participants will receive a certificate showing completion of a training meeting FSMA’s Produce Safety Rule training requirements [21 CFR 112.22(c)].

Cost: $50 (includes morning snacks and lunch, training materials, and PSA grower certificate)

Training Materials and Certificate: Training materials are available on the day. Participants must be present for the full day in order to receive a PSA Grower Certificate.
