4-H Winter Hiking Challenge Guided Hike – Mast Road Natural Area
Looking for a great local hike for your Winter Hiking Challenge? Join us for a guided hike led by Greg Jordan, Rockingham County’s Forestry Field Specialist! At the Mast Road Natural Area there is lots of semi-recent forestry work, wetlands, cool forests, and turtle habitat to look at. It offers approximately 2.7 miles of easy trails (many of which are universally accessible) through unique forested and wetland habitats, including a beautiful beaver pond and frontage on the Lamprey River.
This hike could fulfill any of the following criteria for the Winter Hiking Challenge:
- Hike in your town (if your town is Epping)
- Hike to a pond or lake (there will be wetlands)
- Hike in a different county (if your county is not Rockingham)
- Hike with an animal (if you bring your pet – permitted on leash)
We will meet at the parking area (shown as Gate #3 on the map) on Mast Road in Epping.
All participants will be required to follow UNH COVID-19 Protocols for Participants in 4-H Experiences.
Please register for this guided hike in advance via 4HOnline 2.0 by Monday, January 18.
